- mRNA maturation, export and stability (NMD, AUUUA-elements [ARE], IRE/IRP system)
- structural elements in UTRs (TOPs, 5¿uORFs) and RNA-binding proteins (hnRNPs, Y-box)
- IRESs in viral and cellular systems
- screening for translationally controlled mRNAs
- translational control and stress (heat shock, amino acid starvation, PERK)
- translational control in embryogenesis and development (Drosophila, sea urchin, mouse)
