Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The aim of this course is to introduce students to key molecular and genetic tools in ecology and evolution, such as DNA sequencing including NGS, widely used PCR-based genetic markers, as well as phylogenetic and population genetic analysis methods using different computer programs. Students will get a chance to work with these tools and programs.
Assessment and permitted materials
Participation and presentation of a project (50%) and a written report (50%). Written reports can be extended to Bachelor project theses.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Ability to understand and use essential molecular and cytogenetic techniques including computer programs for phylogenetic and population genetic analyses.
