Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
It is an aim of this lecture to understand the main characteristics of the crystalline state including periodicity, anisotropy and symmetry as prerequisites for special physical properties and applications in daily life. Knowledge of the rock-forming minerals as constituents of the large building units of the Earth and understanding of minerals as resources for metal production, construction materials, and many other applications including awareness of their environmental risks is another topic of this course.
Assessment and permitted materials
