Aims, contents and method of the course

1)Definitions, orders of magnitude in Ecology, comprehensive understanding as a basis for predictions and ecological management.
2)Environmental conditions and resources as determining factors for individuals, populations, communities; concept of the ecological niche.
3)From individuals to Ecosystems (life cycles, distribution, interspecific competition, food webs, species richness, material and energy fluxes).
4)Current problems, applied Ecology (pollution, conservation measures, restoration ecology
