Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Epigenetics studies heritable changes in gene expression that are not encoded in the DNA sequence but rather by chromatin composition and structure, non-protein-coding RNA, RNA stability and processing, and nuclear architecture. The lecture series comprises the principles of epigenetic regulation in diverse experimental systems, in the biological context of chromatin, imprinting, polycomb regulation, DNA rearrangements, non-Mendelian inheritance, small RNA-based mechanisms and their role in development, pathogen defense and genomic stability. The lectures will be given by experts in different areas of epigenetic research from MFPL, IMBA, IMP, CeMM and GMI. More information on the poster and via ortrun.mittelsten_scheid@gmi.oeaw.ac.at.
