parts of a biological system and aims to understand how these interactions
give rise to the function and behavior of that system. Building
computational models of biological systems that propose testable hypotheses
is a central aspect of the systems biology work cycle. The lecture
therefore gives an overview of the various methods and techniques for the
modeling of biological systems.
Graph based modeling, stoichiometry matrix analysis, theory of chemical
organizations, chemical reaction kinetics, modeling reaction networks with
ODEs, stochastic modeling of reaction networks, process algebras and formal
reasoning.
