Aims, contents and method of the course

Einführung in paläontologische Grabungs- und Bergemethoden. Es werde Methoden der Fossilbergung und der Profilaunahme erkärt. Den Studenten werden sowohl die Arbeitstechniken im Hartgestein (Trias, Salzkammergut) als auch im Lockergestein (Miozän, Niederösterreich) vorgestellt. Die Teilnehmer werden in eine wissenschaftliche Grabung eingebunden.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Erlernen von Methoden zur Aufnahme, Dokumentation, Beprobung und Datierung sedimentärer fossilführender Profile oder Aufschlüsse (Steinbruch, Sandgrube).
