Aims, contents and method of the course

Introductions for basic elements of communication and presentation, body language, rhetoric and didactic are given. The theoretical part gives basics like: How does communication work? How are we dealing with informations? What's to take care in body language, rhetorics, creating presentation slides? How can can we use different tools in the right way? What are important do's and don't do's related to presentation techniques?
In the practical part the participants have to give presentations which are filmed and analyzed.
The content is valuable for educational presentations as well as for presentations given at congresses or symposia, so the focus of the seminar clearly is scientific presentation and teaching, but if questioned, special forms of presentation, like to meet on a hearing or assessment can be discussed and shown.

Assessment and permitted materials

Performance assessment is made with presence of participants, cooperation, discussion and single exercises, also one short presentation each participant has to give at the end of the lecture. Appointments for these presentations are fixed during the lecture.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To learn rhetoric, body language and presentation technique, to present in front of an audience in a professional way.

Examination topics

Language is German, but presentations of participants can be given in English or French too.
