Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course is dedicated for Bachelor students from the 6th semester, Master and doctoral students and is offered as part of the interdisciplinary focus.
The minimum requirement is the successful completion of Exercise III A - Molecular biological laboratory work (or a comparable exercise such as UE III Cell Biology). Additional exercises that have already been attended (e.g. UE II biochemistry) are an advantage.
In the first part of the class, students will receive a theoretical introduction into the major forms of science communication. A special focus will be placed on how to playfully and actively communicate scientific topics by hands-on activities.

Within a practical course, it will be demonstrated how scientific content and basic biotechnological knowledge and methods can be communicated to different groups of the lay public in an understandable and fetching manner. Major points to observe in such a practical course will be discussed.
