Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

1. Telomeric trans-silencing and PEV in the Drosophila germ line

2. In vivo DNA/histone modification assays in Drosophila polytene chromosomes

3. Monitoring DNA methylation dynamics in human tissue samples via COBRA analyses

4. Effect of linc RNAs on reprogramming chromatin and promoting human cancer metastasis

5. The effect of HDAC inhibitors on histone marks and expression in somatic mammalian cells

Assessment and permitted materials

Compulsory attendance; the evaluation consists of different performances: active participation and results obtained, written report, theoretical knowledge including final exam (the percentage of the subgrades will be announced by the course leader); each of the subgrades must have a positive evaluation.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students need to perform the experiments, write a protocol and give a final presentation
