Course Dates: June 2oth+21st, 2017 (VBC5 level E1); 9.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.

LIMITED ATTENDANCE: 6 people

Simple UNIVIS registration is NOT necessarily a ticket for the course. In case of overbooking the head of the course will selcet people on the basis of career status and the demand on performing microscopic experiments.

Students with experience in light microscopy AND those who have a proven demand for their master/PhD-work will be preferentially selected.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Each day will be divided in a theoretical and a practical part in the mornings and afternoons, respectively. This workshop will give a detailed introduction into the principles of optics and physics underlying modern microscopy, discussing the possibilities and limitations of different techniques. Additionally the workshop covers live cell imaging, including FRAP and FRET and offers hands-on training in the use of microscopes.
