Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture course is focused on the molecular mechanisms of classical genetics.

The following topics will be covered:

- Model organisms and their genomes

- Genome sequencing

- Mendel genetics and deviations

- Molecular principles of meiosis

- Molecular mechanisms of homologous recombination

- Genetic mapping

- DNA organisation: chromatin

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam with a variable proportion of open questions, "multiple choice" questions and arithmetic tasks
