Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Genetic constructs are fundamental to both biological- and biochemical research.
We will introduce a selected group of interested students to state of the art genetic engineering (2weeks).
Methods will include restriction free cloning by recombineering and by Gibson assembly
and genome editing by CRISPR. The practical course will be complemented by a
literature Seminar on new developments in genetic engineering. A presentation will
be presented by each student in the third week of the course.

Assessment and permitted materials

The evaluation consists of 3 equal parts: Successful participation in the course (attendance & results), written report that will be discussed and defended in a final exam and a presentation. Each of the 3 parts must be successfully completed.
