Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Practical course to learn cell biological techniques such as propagating mammalian cells under sterile conditions, transfection, microinjection, fixation, staining, phase contrast and immunofluorescence microscopy and to analyze the basic behavior of cells during the cell cycle, differentiation, apoptosis, oncogenic transformation, and the analysis of the cytoskeleton and nuclear transport.

Assessment and permitted materials

The assessment is based on the following parts:
1) Practical participation in the experiments
2) Written record of the experiments carried out and their results
3) Final exam, in writing, language of the exam: German, English if necessary
allowed tools: calculator

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements for a positive assessment of the examination: 62.5%
Participation 50%, protocol 25%, final exam 25%

Examination topics

The theoretical foundations given in the work instructions for the internship and the contents discussed in the daily preliminary discussions and discussions of the results.
