DATES: The seminar will take place from 2.30 - 4 pm on 30.11.22, 7.11.22, 14.11.22, 21.11.22, 11.1.23, 18.1.23 and 25.1.23.

LOCATION: The first 4 dates in November/December 2022 take place in HS B, Ebene 1, VBC5, Campus Vienna Biocenter 5, A-1030. The last 3 dates in January 2023 take place in Seminar room, Ebene 1, VBC5, Campus Vienna Biocenter 5, A-1030 (same level as HS B).

As discussed at the Vorbesprechung, it is fine to miss once without an excuse. Further misses need to be confirmed with the lecturers and may result in additional assignments.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The chemical principles underlying molecular structural biology will be discussed using a selection of fundamental scientific papers.

Assessment and permitted materials

Based on the quality of seminar presentation and active participation in scientific discussions.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

A sound understanding of molecular structural biology based on chemistry reasoning.

Examination topics

Students will prepare scientific presentations (based on selected papers) followed by a thorough scientific discussion.

A list of research papers provided by instructors at the beginning of the course.
