Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

It is the aim of this lecture to support people with microscopy experience (basic knowledge in biooptics recommended and expected) to get involved in advanced microscopy techniques and how these can be applied for the life sciences. The major focus will be set to transfer theoretical background knowledge into applied experimental setups. This translational aspect will be trained using case-studies.
Keywords: microscopy, optics, contrasting techniques, imaging, image processing, live imaging, fluorescence, superresolution microscopy, sample preparation, cameras and detection, optical highlighters

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

each exam: 6 questions for 6 points each (max 36 points); 18 points needed for positive grade
