Aims, contents and method of the course

What is biochemistry? basic chemistry knowledge for biochemistry, small molecules (amino acids, co-factors, vitamines), structure and function of proteins, enzymology and metabolism, cellular compartments, carbohydrate metabolism, mitochondrial metabolism, chloroplasts and photosynthesis, lipids, nitrogen- and sulfur metabolism, nucleic acids and "metabolism of information", principles of regulation, -omics: transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics - what is it, and what is it good for?

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Participants will be able to investigate and discuss biological questions using biological data (structures, reaction schemes or metabolic pathway schemes).
Grades:
87,5 - 100%: very good (1)
75 - 87,4%: good (2)
62,5 - 74,9%: satisfactory (3)
>50 - 62,4%: sufficient (4)
0 - 50%: insufficient (5)
