Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course is partially held in English! In three successive weeks (3 modules) the course gives an introduction to numerical data analysis, the underlying microscopically processes of spectroscopy and how to model them, the theory of spectroscopy and methods like UV-vis Spectroscopy, and Circular Dichroism Spectroscopy. In addition their application in molecular biology / structural biology to analyse and characterize macromolecules (proteins, DNA) is shown.
Assessment and permitted materials
Compulsory attendance; the evaluation consists of different performances: active participation and results obtained, written report (the percentage of the subgrades will be announced by the course leader) in all three modules. An additional closed-book exam for Module 2 (Falk/Kontaxis) and 3 (Leonard/Ries).
