Aims, contents and method of the course

The Advanced Macromolecular Crystallography is in-depth course covering will cover advanced topics of Macromolecular crystallography and Molecular Structural Biology, and is recommended for students that have already attended the lessons on Macromolecular Crystallography and/or Biophysical method for biologycal macromolecules (Analytical chemistry II).

* Electron Transmission Microscopy

* Use of Soft X-rays in Macromolecular Crystallography

* Neutron Diffraction

* Small angle X-ray scattering for macromolecules

* Radiation damage and its applications

* The frontiers: * Kinetic crystallography and Free electron Laser

* Membrane protein crystallography

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral or written exam, depending on the number of students.
