Selected topics of cutting edge research and methodological advances in cell biology presented by different experts (topics usually vary slightly from one year to the other). Current topics (11 lecturers): Cytoskeleton and its role in disease; Nuclear assembly; Cell division; Cell fate determination; Epigenetics & chromatin modifications; Selective autophagy; Angiogenesis; Host-pathogen interaction; Tumor biology; RNAi-revolution; and Bioinfomatics in Cell Biology. In addition, students present a literature seminar (20 min) on a topic (related) suggested by the speakers.
Assessment and permitted materials
1. Written (final) exam addressing 3 or more topics covered by lectures. Selected topics and number of questions varies. If questions cover only 4 or less lecturers' topics, they must all be answered positively in order to pass. Answers to topic questions will be evaluated (1-5) by corresponding lecturers. 2.
