Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this course, you will study a problem in bacterial gene regulation in the model bacterium Escherichia coli. We will focus on current research questions that are ongoing in my group e.g. a topic dealing with gene regulation mediated by a small RNA. Thereby, you will learn advanced techniques that are useful to solve the problem under study (e.g. reporter gene assays, site-directed mutagenesis techniques, construction of mutants, Western blotting etc.).

Assessment and permitted materials

The evaluation consists of different performances: active participation and results obtained, written report, presentation of the work in a chalk talk/power point presentation.
