Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Practical introduction to developmental and stem cell biology through selected examples

Differentiation of embryonic stem cells into different lineages, morphological analysis using light microscopy, determination of transcriptional changes through quantitative PCR, generation of mutants using CRISPR-Cas9 technology, FACS analysis and sorting, fluorescent microscopy analysis

Assessment and permitted materials

Mandatory attendance.
The assessment is based on the following partial performances:

+) Active participation and result of the experiments (performance share 10%)
+) Written protocol (performance share 30%)
+) written exam (performance share 20%)
+) Creation of a written work in the form of a scientific article (in English) about an experiment of the internship (performance ratio 40%)

Permitted aids for the written exam: own laboratory protocol (internet and smartphone are not permitted), pen.

Each of the partial performances must be positive.
