Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The overall organization of the nuclear genome will be compared for plants of different genome sizes. The zein genes from maize will serve as a paradigm for a multigene family. The light regulation of the expression of nuclear genes for chloroplast proteins and its importance for photomorphogenesis and cell differentiation will be discussed. Structure and expression of the chloroplast and mitochondrial genomes constitute further topics. Finally, a chapter will deal with plant virusses and viroids.

Verständnis der besonderen Position, die die Pflanzen unter den Eukaryonten einnehmen (Wechselspiel von drei Genomen, Genregulation durch Licht), anhand von ausgewählten Kapiteln.
