Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture deals with the development of pharmacy from antiquity to the 21st century. The influence of Arabic medicine and of Christian orders on medicine and pharmacy will be discussed as well as the growing importance of natural sciences since Paracelsus. Further main topics are the history of the Austrian profession of pharmacy and its laws, and the education of Austrian pharmacists during the centuries.
