Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction: definition, research in pharmacognosy. Plant and animal kingdom as sources of drugs; production of herbal medicinal drugs (cultivatio, propagation, plant breeding, collectin and harvesting, preservation, storage, sterilization, extraction, quality control).
Biological pharmacochemistry: cehemistry of pharmacologically active compounds of biological origin, biosynthesis. Pharmacopoeial and related drugs of biological origin, herbal medicinal products; legal basics, intersting and current problems and applications, examples for indications.
