Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The students should be able to write a research project focused on the Lab rotation realized during the activities of MPS8. Particular attention will be devoted to interdisciplinary aspects. The research proposal can be considered the starting draft for performing the MSc Thesis.

Students presentations on a given topic.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The students should demonstrate writing capabilities and literature search abilities in order to draft a full proposal. In particular, the following points should be clearly outlined: a) state-of-the-art / introduction; b) objectives; c) methodology proposed; d) critical points which require fine tuning during the development of the project; e) expected results and interdisciplinary significance.
Grades for the module will be deduced to 40% from the quality of the proposal, to 30% from the oral presentations and 30 % from the active participation in the discussions during the course.

Examination topics
Assessment of the written proposal and presentation/discussion of the same.
