Aims, contents and method of the course

- Basics of nutritional sciences, world nutrition
- Assessment of the nutritional status by nutrtional nutritional surveys, anthropometric measurements and investigation of biochemical paramters
- Energy and water balance
- Mechanisms of hunger and repletion
- Digestion and absorption of macro- and micro-nutrients, physiological importance
- Health promotion and disease prevention
- Different nutritional concepts
- Nutritional hazards

Assessment and permitted materials

written examination: multiple choice questions
grades:
60% ... sufficient
70% ... satisfying
80% ... good
90% ... excellent

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students know basics of nutritional sciences, anthropometric assessment, evaluation of food and nutrient intake. They can critically evaluate the nutritional status.
Students are able to assess diffrent kibds of diets and know associations between nutrition and health. They understand nutritional sciences as a discipline of natural sciences to safeguard human health as well as food quality and safety.
