Continuous assessment of course work

The course is based on continuous assessment of the students, and consists of a lecture block and a seminar, during which the students will present current, international literature in the research field. The focus is on the molecular effects of carbohydrates, fat, and protein, as well as antioxidants/phytochemicals during exercise training and acute exercise.

Aims, contents and method of the course

Target group of the course are master students. After a lecture block about general principles and novel findings in the area of sports nutrition, especially on a molecular-physiological level, the students will be asked to interpret, present and discuss current studies. The focus is on the molecular effects of carbohydrates, fat, and protein, as well as antioxidants/phytochemicals during exercise training and acute exercise.

Assessment and permitted materials

Evaluated will be: commitment during the course, handouts to be created, and the presentation of studies.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The students should be able to interpret, present and discuss current, international literature in the research area.

Examination topics

Lecture block and seminar within the frame of a journal club.

Reading list

Print-outs for the lectures, literature in the research area (English; will be provided partly)
