Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture "Nutrition as an integrated discipline: cell to society concept" is intended to demonstrate nutrition research and nutritional science evidence based strategies from cell to simple organisms, to organs and tissues of complex organisms, to human individuals, and finally to the human society by case studies for selected nutrients and nutrition concepts.
Students are able to integrate and transfer
- the molecular basis of gene expression on cellular level,
- the regulation of protein synthesis,
- the regulation of metabolic processes on cellular and tissue level and
- the consequences for the human organism for the development of the individual phenotype and the variation of phenotypes on the level of population groups and the society

Schriftliche Prüfung mit offenen Fragen

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Schriftliche Abschlussprüfung, mindestens 60% der maximal erreichbaren Punktezahl, also mindestens 15 von 25 Punkten.
Beurteilung der Prüfung:
< 15 Punkte: nicht genügend
15-16 Punkte: genügend
17-19 Punkte: befriedigend
20-22 Punkte: gut
23-25 Punkte: sehr gut
