Aims, contents and method of the course

Learning Outcomes:
- Students gain insight into cutting edge topics in the area of the EU’s food policy and engage into discussions
- Students are able to perform a literature search in scientific databases and other publically available data ressources
- Students are able to extract content from the aforementioned literature search
- Students improve skills in presenting and summarizing findings from scientific articles and public health data repositories by autonomously providing a structured talk and term paper

Exemplary content:
plant product utilization; bee health; GMO use; food waste; ultra-processed food; added sugar restriction; dual food quality; antimicrobial resistance; health claim applications; calorie information on menu cards; EU law on food information to consumers; front-of-pack labelling initiatives; EU platform for action on diet, physical activity and health; EU salt reduction framework; EU action plan on childhood obesity; health information and data generation structure
