Aims, contents and method of the course

TOPIC : Applied Nutrition of Selected Population Target Groups.

1) Basics -the needs:

- pregnancy, perinatal period, breastfeeding mother

- premature infant

- infant - breastfeeding

- infant/toddler - formulas, weaning foods

- child nutrition - prevention from disease (allergy, obesity etc)

- nutrition of the severely sick child (nutrition specialties)

- adolescence

- specific requirements of adults (sports, sickness etc)

- generation 45+ (functional food, prevention from disease, lifesyle products)

2) Nutrition and Medical industry. What makes products/services successful?

- nutrition and medical market research

- nutrition and medical marketing

a) product (services) mix (value of the brand)

b) pricing strategy

c) communication (advertising/agencies, PR)

d) potential sales channels

e) sales techniques (category management etc)

f) basic financials of industrial (nutrition, medical) products and services.

g) product research & development, manufacturing, and supply chain
