Aims, contents and method of the course

The course introduces into modern analytical techniques usually used to analyse human blood samples as well as food samples. Students will gain a broad insight into a wide spectrum of analytical methods.
Aim of the course is to enable students to perform independently and correctly different analytics of human blood samples and food samples as well as to interprete generated data.

Assessment and permitted materials

The grading consists of work performed in the laboratory (40%), the final examination (multiple choice, open-end questions, chemical arithmetic; 40%), the group work (15%) and the lab journal (5%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To pass the course, an overall performance of at least 60% has to be reached.

Examination topics

Introduction into laboratory work with focus on photometry, tritration, HPLC, ASE, and calorimetrics.
