Aims, contents and method of the course

Approx. 12% of drugs may interact with food and can cause unwanted side effects.
Basic knowledge about interactions which are relevant in daily life will be presented in the lecture.

Essential mechanisms of interactions
Effects of food on absorption of drugs
Effects of food on metabolism of drugs
Effects of food on excretion of drugs
Effects of food components of activity of drugs
Effects of drugs on nutrient supply and nutrient efficacy
Effect of drugs on regulation of hunger and satiety

Assessment and permitted materials

written exam
multiple choice and open questions
60 minutes

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

90-100%: very good (1)
80-89%: good (2)
70-79%: satisfactory (3)
60-69%: sufficient (4)
<60%: failed (5)
