Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to basic aspects of translation; text analysis for translation; production of English texts based on German source data. Course held in English; exclusively English text production.

Assessment and permitted materials

Class performance; homework assignments; one mid-term and one final test.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students will acquire basic strategies necessary for successful translation and learn functional assignment-focused approach to text production; improvement of text production skills; preparation for Bakk- and PIK-exams.

Examination topics

Lecture; text analysis and text production in class; discussion of texts prepared by students as homework; individual and team work.
