Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course aims at improving the skill of simultaneous interpreting in the booth; interpreting using the relais.
Contents: speeches, interviews and debates (from the spheres of politics, economics, culture, science, medicine, sports etc.)
Methods: Interpreting with and without preparation; if possible, conducting topic-based terminological research to prepare for the interpreting in class.

Assessment and permitted materials

Active participation in class; terminological research; analysing own interpretations; peer-to-peer feedback.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Anwesenheit und aktive Mitarbeit
Die einzelnen erbrachten Leistungen (Dolmetschungen im Unterricht, Hausarbeiten, Tests, Plattformarbeiten) werden nach folgendem Maßstab gewichtet:
- Transkript und Analyse eigener oder fremder Dolmetschleistung 10%
- aktive Mitarbeit (Glossare, Recherche, eigene Redebeiträge etc.) 30 %
- Dolmetschleistung im Präsenzunterricht 60%
Mindestanforderung für positive Gesamtbeurteilung: mindestens ein Genügend in allen drei Leistungsbereichen.

Examination topics

No final exam.
