Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Students improve their oral text competence for both spontaneous and planned oral text production. Emphasis is on public speaking with attention to audience analysis, compositional, and delivery skills. All text production and performance is based on specific tasks and audio(visual) source materials (video clips, interviews, podcasts, ...).

Assessment and permitted materials

30% independent presentation
30% video task
20% assignments
20% participation in class

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

An advanced level of oral English is required.
Students must complete all assignments.
Attendance is mandatory — only two absences allowed.
Passing grade: 60%.
Grading scale: ≥90% = 1, ≥80% = 2, ≥70% = 3, ≥60% = 4.

Examination topics

Continuous assessment of course work — no exam.
