Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Texts about current macroeconomic and business topics in the Czech Republic (unemployment, inflation, European Union, currency, banking, corruption and the like): articles from journals/newspapers, statements, summaries, oral and written interpretation of statistics and graphics, debate in discussions.
Oral and wirtten proficiency in the appropriate terminology and phraseology.

Assessment and permitted materials

Attendance is mandatory (max. 2 missed meetings per term). Course grade according to the following key:
Final test: 55%
Homework: 15%
Class participation: 15%
Short presentations: 15%
Test in the first meeting (prerequisite: level C1). Participation in the first meeting and the test is mandatory!

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Practice and fluency in the use of language for specific contexts.

Examination topics

Lecture, individual exercises, exercises in pairs and teams, short individual presentations, homework.
