Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Developing listening comprehension strategies, critical listening and discussion skills, as well as producing spoken and written texts embedded in a specific communication situation

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment will be based on the following:
- Participation in class and in online activities (10%);
- Completion of written assignments (40%);
- Mid-term test (20%);
- Final test (30%).

Students will be allowed to use monolingual dictionaries during the tests (no electronic devices).

Attendance is mandatory (two absences allowed).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The objectives of this course are as follows:
- to help students improve their listening comprehension and discussion skills;
- to raise students' awareness of writing processes;
- to hone students' writing skills with a focus on the communication situation and text organization.

Examination topics

In-class listening, speaking, and writing activities (individual, pair, and group work), online activities, assignments in oral comprehension and text production
