Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Awareness of rhetorical strategies and stylistic tools and listener expectations. Students should be able to develop their own style in dealing with different subject-matter and types of (spoken) texts.

Assessment and permitted materials

Impromptu speeches (30%),
Structured speech (30%),
Debate(s) (30%)
Improvement, in-class participation (10%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance is mandatory
An advanced level of both oral and written English is required.
Grading scale: ≥90% = 1, ≥80% = 2, ≥70% = 3, ≥60% = 4

Examination topics

Evaluation will be based on students' skill in learning the genres and exercise formats used in class and in the home assignments.
