Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Couldn't change the time. Bummer. And I have no idea why it's starting on the 11th.

Anyway, a variety of texts, to be used as launchpads for written self-expression. I'll try to structure this stuff around a few features of English that German speakers sometimes find difficult to exploit - formality, modality, conditionality and, erm, tense-ality.

Although the course will be strictly limited to an eye-watering 60, I would encourage you to come along to the first class, even if you're 123rd on the waiting list. This is because there are always drop-outs and no-shows, and also it allows me to add your name to the "official" waiting list. The knowledge that there is (or may be) a substantial waiting list is important, from my point of view.

Also, please note that priority will be given to students who have completed both the Horkompetenz and the Lesekompetenz UEs. Those without both of these UEs will only be accepted if there are spare places.
