Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course is for students with little or no experience in consecutive interpreting. During the semester, we will interpret a variety of texts (videos, presentations in class) into both German and English. Students will develop basic consecutive interpreting skills and coping strategies and improve their note-taking systems through various exercises. We will also practice liaison interpreting and sight translation.
Assessment and permitted materials
Continuous evaluation. Attendance and participation will be expected. Two absences will be tolerated.
Students are allowed to use their own note pads and glossaries. Use of AI applications (e.g. for preparing presentations) must be made transparent.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
An excellent command of both German and English is required.Grading scale: ≥90% = 1, ≥80% = 2, ≥70% = 3, ≥60% = 4
Examination topics
Course with ongoing evaluation. Students should master the contents and competences conveyed in the course of the semester.
