Improvement of skills needed to interpret and produce grammatically correct texts in English.

The language of instruction is English.

Assessment and permitted materials

Mid-semester test (40%), end-of-term test (40%), two mini tests (10%
each).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Examination topics

Mid-term and final exam: Tenses, conditionals, affixes and word formation,
collocations, gerunds & infinitives, modal verbs, reported speech,
relative clauses, the passive

Mini-test 1: Articles, dependent prepositions, linking words

Mini-test 2: Inversion, nouns, unreal time
