Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to central methods, theories and approches of literary studies and interpretation and relevant concepts such as author and reader; institutions of literary communication and mediation; canon formation; literary genres.

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral exam on the material presented in class and compulsory reading material. No aids allowed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The oral exam comprises three questions. For each questions 30 points can be achieved. For a pass grade a minimum of 45 points (out of 90) have to be achieved.

Grading scale:
80-90 points: very good
69-79 points: good
57-68 points: satisfactory
45-56 points: sufficient
0-44 points: fail
