Aims, contents and method of the course
Translation of selected technical texts of different topics from German into Italian and vice-versa (parallel texts); we will work on the various topics trying to simulate a real working situation.The course tackles the comparison of German and Italian parallel texts and faims to find optimal strategic approaches to these texts in order to generate a translation adequate to a hypothetic commission, taking into account the conditions of a real working situation.
Assessment and permitted materials
• 30% (15% German-Italian and 15% Italian-German) simulated handwritten reduced Modul exam, 1900 characters without spaces, without any auxiliary means, 90' working time
• 20% group assignment (10% German-Italian, 10% Italian-German)
• 20% permanent control, assignments and group work on the platform
• final test 30% (15% German-Italian, 15% Italian-German) 90' working time for both directions, dictionaries are allowed

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
C2 level for both languages. We strongly advise to have completed the following courses: Basiskompetenz Translation A Italienisch and Basiskompetenz Translation B.
Examination topics
The final exam tackles an issue discussed during the term.
