Aims, contents and method of the course

This comprehensive introduction delves into both the theoretical underpinnings and practical applications of specialized communication and terminology. Specifically, we will explore the characteristics of languages for specific purposes and specialized communication. Our discussions will encompass the fundamental principles of terminology science and the associated terminology work, with a particular focus on translation-oriented terminology work. We will offer insights into various viewpoints within the field and shed light on different perspectives of terminology science and research into specialized communication.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Grading: 0-60% 5 (fail), 61-70% 4, 71-80% 3, 81-90% 2, 91-100% 1.
