Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Topic of this semester: politics and geography. We will write a travel guide of a portuguese speaking country that is not yet well known in Austria or Germany. Therefore we are going to analyze and translate portuguese texts.
Assessment and permitted materials
Continuous assessment. Grading of prepared translations (70%) and a final test (30%).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Prepare students for their professional work by giving them an assignment, monitoring translational work and billing. Thereby they ought to attain additional analytical, contrastive and translatorial skills.
Examination topics
The texts to be translated are partly given, partly being found by students themselves. During the semester they are to be prepared before class. In class results are going to be compared and discussed; a final version is to be put on the platform.
Reading list
Wird im Laufe des Semesters bekannt gegeben.
