Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Einarbeitung in Texte aus unterschiedlichen Fachgebieten, wobei in diesem Semester der Schwerpunkt auf folgenden Gebieten liegen wird: Politik (Menschenrechte) und Wirtschaft. Teilweise Übersetzung der Website einer portugiesischen NGO, die mit Mosambik zusammenarbeitet.
Assessment and permitted materials
Continuous evaluation. 80% home assignments, 20% portfolio with corrected assignments to be handed in at the end of the semester.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Acquire strategies to tackle translation tasks in various different areas. Research competencies and documentation. Being able to work together with others in order to hand in work that has been corrected by peers.
Examination topics
Every week students are asked to download a text together with a specific task description from our moodle-platform. Assignments are to be handed in every Wednesday before 3 p.m. after having been corrected by a peer. All assignments are corrected by the teacher. In class, we will discuss the translation process and analyze the text which is to be translated next.
