Aims, contents and method of the course

Regular attendance, participation/performance in class, weekly homework tasks (semester portfolio), mid-term test, end-term test
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
This class is aimed at developing students' listening comprehension and writing skills (expression, style, register) through a variety of recorded material such as podcasts, radio programmes and video clips.
Examination topics
Discussion, analysis and writing assignments (e.g. paraphrasing/summarising texts, production of original texts, creative writing tasks) based on recordings of spoken English (podcasts, video clips etc.) heard in class. We will discuss a variety of topics, including politics, science, society, literature and sports.
