Aims, contents and method of the course

Improvement of skills needed to interpret and produce grammatically correct texts in English.
Exercises in class and on Moodle.
Tense review, conditionals, affixes, gerunds & infinitives, modal verbs, reported speech, relative clauses, the passive
The language of instruction is English.

Assessment and permitted materials

Mid-semester test (40%), end-of-term test (40%), two mini tests (10% each). No materials permitted.

Mid-term exam 10.5., final exam 21.6., mini-tests 29.3. & 31.5.

Mid-term and final exam: Tenses, conditionals, affixes and word formation, collocations, gerunds & infinitives, modal verbs, reported speech, relative clauses, the passive
Mini-test 1: Articles, dependent prepositions, linking words
Mini-test 2: Inversion, nouns, unreal time
