Aims, contents and method of the course

Text examples in their discoursive environment:
- analysis of text and context
- critical discourse analysis
- discussion of structures of society and power and their manifestations in text
- agenda setting of topic in public discourse

Assessment and permitted materials

Presentation, participation during lectures, several tasks during the term, dissertation

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The seminar is supposed to sesibilise for texts in their discoursive environment as well as for the influence of context parameters and sociological aspects on texts.

Examination topics

Discussion of several text examples, workshop and exercises.
The first part of the seminar should initialise a reflexion process about several main topics of text and discourse and enable the participants for an autonomous survey in the second part of the term
